The regular meeting of Cleng Peerson Lodge of Sons of Norway
was called to order by President Jerry Johnson at 2 p.m. on March 18, 2007 in the Norway Community
Building. The song leader,
led the members in singing the U.S. and
Norwegian National Anthems and the pledge to the American flag.
Roll call was answered by 15 board members. The secretary report was
presented and approved. The treasurer’s report was presented and approved.
Under old business, there
was some discussion of the trip to Stroughton, Wisconsin
for Syttene Mai, Sunday. May 20, 2007. It was moved by Richard Gunderson and
seconded by Robert Sebby that the lodge go ahead and make arrangements for the bus trip.
Motion approved. Orion Carlson will proceed with the arrangements. Orion Carlson made a motion that children should go free on the trip. Robert Sebby seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Under new business, the Lodge
has been invited to send recipes to be included in the Fifth District Cookbook. Anyone
interested should send their recipes in to President Johnson and he will send them on.
There was a discussion of
placing a plaque in the Museum in memory of Marian Marshall. Florence and Howard Eltrevog offered to investigate the cost of a plaque and report at the
next meeting. Sonja Gromm made a motion that this should be done. Orion Carlson seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Jerry Johnson reminded the
members of the Run-Scape Jewelry Sale as a possible fund raiser.
President Johnson asked for
volunteers to serve as a committee for the 35th Anniversary Dinner to be held in October. Sonja Gromm, Orion Carlson, Florence Eltrevog, and Carol Johnson volunteered to serve on this committee.
Johnson announced there will
be a Board Meeting at the April meeting on Sunday, April 15 and 1p.m.
Charlotte Danielson from
Polar Star Lodge, won the 50-50 drawing for $18.00.
